Laminate is nowadays also being used increasingly in the commercial sector, on the one hand because it is so easy to look after; it is particularly hard-wearing even in areas that are subject to heavy wear. Another reason is that ongoing technical development is resulting in laminate flooring that looks more and more like natural wood. Manufacturers of branded products are constantly striving to improve the quality and usage characteristics of laminate flooring. Laminate flooring has now become a product that is both mature in a technical sense and also environmentally friendly.
Our fast-moving society has entered a phase in which it is quite common to completely replace floors in shops or offices even when they are just a few years old. Laminate floors from EGGER Floor Products are easy to install and, with their clearly-structured usage classifications, they offer a wide range of options for the commercial sector. Classes 32 and 33 are especially hard-wearing, low maintenance and long-lasting and are perfectly suitable for use in public or commercial environments, while floors from usage class 31 are also suitable for medium-traffic situations in the commercial sector. Whether in commercial areas with a medium level of wear such as offices, waiting rooms and boutiques, or in those where the wear is more intensive such as open-plan offices, department stores and exhibition stands – wherever there is a lot of coming and going it is particularly important that flooring should be of top quality. The EGGER Floor Products collections Floorline, emotion, Vivo nature and Feelwood offer numerous advantages which speak in favour of using laminate flooring in commercial premises.
The floors in the Floorline collection feature a total of 39 decors in usage class Floorline Crystal 32, and six decors in class Floorline Diamond 33, and these floors meet the high quality criteria demanded in the commercial sector. In line with current trends, the woods used for Floorline are primarily dark woods such as Merbau, Wenge, Acacia or Walnut. Surfaces that are perfectly in tune with the decors, with longitudinal and all-round Woodvision bevels for selected decors, accentuate the wood-floor appearance of Floorline floors. The luxury-class Diamond panels are fitted with a 2.5 mm silenzio Plus underlay mat for superbly comfortable walking coupled with soundproofing. In addition, class 33 laminate floors prevent electrostatic charges, something that is very welcome, particularly in commercial premises.
The emotion collection includes a wide range of fashionable decors. Highlights of class 32, with its total of 32 decors, include the vivacious and exotic charms such as Doussie Aruba, Olive tree Sevilla and Woodart. This category also includes the unusual, fashionable decors Woodstock mocca, Yew and Fir. Also in the emotion collection, laminate floors of usage class 33 are fitted with the special cellulose underlay whose 2.5 mm thickness significantly reduces the noise level of footsteps and general sound in the space. There are six decors altogether in this class, including Oak, Cherry and Ash.
The Vivo nature range moves trendiness up to an altogether higher level. There is a choice of ten different decors in usage class 32. This product's defining feature is that it comes in single plank size (855 x 90 mm) which looks very grand when the floor is laid. The innovative Micro-V bevel conveys an impression of a high-quality natural wood floor. The collection contains exotic woods such as Java Teak, Rio Palisander or White Elm. The use of silenzio noise-reducing underlay results in a satisfying sound that is not unlike solid wood.
The high-quality Feelwood collection contains ten wood decors with single plank formats (855 x 90 mm). Fine, exotic wood impressions such as Doussie, Wenge and Limed Oak are the trendsetters from the exclusive range of laminate floors. The slight Micro-V bevelling on both the long and short edges accentuate the impression of wooden flooring. The bevel coating, which is selected to exactly match the decor, provides excellent water-resistant and dirt-repellent characteristics.
Technically perfect Laminate floors are hygienic – virtually any kind of mark can be removed. Practically no bacteria forms on the floor. These ranges of laminate flooring are also resistant to ultraviolet light, which means that the floor still looks new even after years of exposure to light. The specially developed swell-barrier plus coreboard makes laminate flooring from EGGER Floor Products resistant to moisture, and the shock resistance guarantee means that the floor will retain its beauty for many years to come. For the class 33 floors in particular, a specific production process known as CML technology (Continuous Multi Layer) was developed whereby the surface is coated with multiple layers. As a result, floors from this usage class are highly impact resistant, and their edges are extremely robust. The fact that these floors are extremely hard-wearing is of the utmost importance, particularly for the commercial sector. The general noise characteristics of laminate flooring in public buildings have always represented a problem area. EGGER Floor Products has managed to solve this problem by developing products with an underlay that is bonded directly onto their underside; the underlay greatly improves the general noise characteristics. This underlay goes by the name of silenzio, and is available in a thickness of 1 mm with floors of usage class 32; this has the effect of improving general noise levels by 13 dB and halving the frequency. With class 33 laminate floors, a 2.5 mm thick silenzio Plus sound-proofing underlay is used. Due to its surface weight (twice as heavy), the laminate flooring lies very evenly on the substrate, and this reduces general noise even further. In addition, all laminate flooring from EGGER Floor Products has antistatic properties. In order to be certified as antistatic floors they have to fulfil the requirements of European standard EN 1815. This standard specifies that a person's static charge must not exceed 2 kV. Floorline Diamond 33 was developed expressly for this purpose, and has been tested and certified in accordance with EN 1815. All products in the EGGER Floor Products collection comply with the relevant fire safety standards. The products are CFL/s1 certified, fire-resistant, and they produce little smoke if they do ever catch fire.
As long as it is looked after correctly, a laminate floor will remain attractive for many years to come - even in public and commercial settings. Lastingly beautiful decorative surfacees and edges (because with EGGER Floor Products the abrasion warranty covers the edges as well) will keep on reminding you how good life can be. Depending on the class of product, guarantees of between 15 and 25 years are included for domestic areas. For commercial premises the guarantee is valid for 5 years. |

The exotic decor of Kiboto Wenge from the Floorline Diamond 33 collection lends itself to a purist ambience in what is known as 'lounge style'. With its natural Woodline surface and a silenzio-Plus underlay, this flooring is ideal for use in cafés and restaurants. In spaces with white walls and ceilings this floor can be combined most elegantly with white furnishings or warm metallic tones such as stainless steel, bronze or gold. Kiboto Wenge produces exciting light/dark contrasts. |
